Mit der Ausstellung »Ping-Pong« spielen sich die Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg und das Freiburger Museum für Neue Kunst gegenseitig die Bälle zu: Die Kunststiftung fördert junge, aufstrebende Künstler*innen während das Kunstmuseum den Künstler*innen eine öffentliche Plattform bietet. Die Ausstellung »Ping-Pong« überschreitet die Grenzen des Museums und geht in den Stadtraum von Freiburg. Anstelle der Museumswände präsentieren temporäre Billboards, Litfaßsäulen und Fahnen die Werke der Künstler*innen. Online können sich die Besucher*innen ihre eigene Route zu den einzelnen Arbeiten planen. Im Laufe der Ausstellung finden Performances, Lesungen und experimentelle Konzerte in weiteren Partnerinstitutionen in Freiburg statt. In einem von Martin Pfeifle entwickelten Projektraum im Museum finden sich Informationen zu den Künstlerinnen und Künstlern. Außerdem gibt es dort von ihnen gestaltete T-Shirts, Multiples und Druckeditionen, die Besucherinnen und Besucher kostenfrei oder gegen geringe Gebühr mitnehmen dürfen. »Ping-Pong« ist prozesshaft – ein experimentelles Ausstellungs-Format in ständiger Veränderung und Bewegung. »Ping-Pong« zeigt eine Auswahl aktueller und ehemaliger Stipendiat*innen der Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg und bedient sich partizipativer und interdisziplinärer Ansätze.

With the ‘Ping-Pong’ exhibition, the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg and the Freiburg Museum of Contemporary Art are playing ping-pong: the Kunststiftung supports young, up-and-coming artists, while the Kunstmuseum offers artists a public platform. The ‘Ping-Pong’ exhibition transcends the boundaries of the museum and enters the urban space of Freiburg. Instead of the museum walls, temporary billboards, advertising pillars and flags present the artists' works. Visitors can plan their own route to the individual works online. Over the course of the exhibition, performances, readings and experimental concerts will take place in other partner institutions in Freiburg. Information about the artists can be found in a project space in the museum developed by Martin Pfeifle. There are also T-shirts, multiples and print editions designed by the artists, which visitors can take away free of charge or for a small fee. ‘Ping-Pong’ is processual - an experimental exhibition format in constant change and movement. ‘Ping-Pong’ shows a selection of current and former scholarship holders of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg and utilises participatory and interdisciplinary approaches.
